- The
AltaVista Foreign Language Translator
Many of the following websites will be in languages other than english.
If you're surfing auf Deutsch, en espanol, en francais, in italiano
or nos portugueses, this
is a handy online dictionary that can usually give you the gist of
a passage. Simply cut the text from the webpage and paste it into
the box in the translator. Select the desired conversion and wait while
AltaVista works its magic.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO LAZY FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDENTS: Writing your papers
in English and using this tool to translate them into a foreign language
will not only produce a failing grade, but will make you the target
of your teacher's wrath. Every language has its special quirks and
this tool does not take those into account; it translates words. If
you don't believe me, translate a passage from a foreign text into English
and see what you get.

those who lived at that time. What better way to view history than through
the Artist's eyes."Contains thousands of links including online
